VIVO – Semiotics Poster Series

This poster series was inspired by the song Vivo by Fobia, a Spanish rock band. I grew up listening to their music because of my dad. Vivo is a song that has a lot of meaning

in my life. I connected with it during the process of this piece. It reflects a childhood that involved alcohol addiction and arguments. Those experiences we carry and deal with later on when we begin to understand what we were even feeling at the time. It creates chaos, confusion, but no matter what we grow through it the best way we can.

The Process

It was only right for me to use my family as the models because of how much this project meant to me. Even though the topic was a bit intense, it was real and raw, and they agreed to be a part of it.

Iconic – The iconic poster shows the little girl looking up to her parents despite the flaws. No matter the chaos her and her stuffed animal will get through anything.

Indexical – This poster shows the outcome of a girl who's reflected her childhood. It shows growth and change and even destruction.

I initially wanted the photo to have a blue tone to set the emotional tone. However the orange tone fit more because of the nostalgia dreamy mood it portrays.
